Turkey Is Expected To Import 25,862 Tons Of Bauxite In 2020

From 2017 to 2019, Turkey imported a total of 11,768 tons of bauxite, and foreign exchange expenditure was 46.32 million US dollars. It is estimated that 25,862 tons of bauxite will be imported in 2020, and foreign exchange expenditure will be US$11.6 million.

By then, the cumulative import volume of Turkish bauxite will reach 143,030 tons, and the cumulative foreign exchange expenditure will be 57.92 million US dollars. In 2017, Turkey imported 38,930 tons of bauxite, and foreign exchange expenditure was US$13.16 million; in 2018, it increased to 40,280 tons, and foreign exchange expenditure rose to US$17.72 million.

In 2019, Turkey’s imports of bauxite fell to 37,958 tons, and foreign exchange expenditures also fell to 15.54 million US dollars. In 2020, it is expected that Turkish bauxite imports will continue to decline by 31.87% to 25,862 tons, the lowest in four years, and foreign exchange expenditures are expected to drop to $11.6 million. Turkey mainly imports bauxite from China, India and the Netherlands.
