The difference between cold drawing and cold drawing production process of stainless steel pipe

May 24 2023

Components

One. Conventional elbow operation

1. Hold the tube bender forming handle or fix the tube bender to the vise.

2. Loosen the hook and raise the slider handle.

3. Place the pipe in the forming tray groove and fix it in the forming tray with a hook.

4. Lower the slider handle until the "0" scale line on the hook is aligned with the 0° position on the forming disc.

5. Rotate the slider handle around the forming disc until the "0" scale on the slider is aligned with the desired degree on the forming disc.

two. 90° to 180° bending

Follow steps 1-5 above for 90° bending.

1. After the pipe has been bent to 90°, turn the slider handle to unlock the X-Tune steering mechanism.

2. Lift the slider handle around the slider until the 90-180° triangle mark is aligned with the triangle mark on the hook.

3. Rotate the slider handle to adjust the X-Tune steering mechanism to the locked position.

4. Operate the slider handle and continue to bend the tube until the "0" line on the slider is aligned with the desired bending angle. (The two handles will not cross)

three. Accurate bending (corresponding to other target points (tube end, bending point, etc.) after measurement)

1. 90° bending:

· Mark the pipe according to the required distance (X) from the target point (pipe end, bending point, etc.). This distance is the distance from the center of the corner to the target point.

·Place the pipe in the pipe bender.

·If the target point is on the left side of the mark, align the mark on the pipe with the "L" line on the hook.

·If the target point is on the right side of the mark, align the mark on the pipe with the "R" line on the hook.

After aligning the marks on the pipe, move the hook so that the "0" line is aligned with the 90-degree line on the forming plate.

2.45° bending:

Mark the pipe according to the required distance (X) from the target point (pipe end, bending point, etc.). This distance is the distance from the center of the arc to the target point.

Place the pipe in the pipe bender.

Align the mark on the pipe with the 45° line on the slider

After aligning the marks on the tube, move the hook so that the "0" line is aligned with the 45-degree line on the dial.

four. Rebound

Pipes of all materials will produce a certain amount of springback after completing the bending operation. Softer material pipes (such as copper pipes) have less rebound than hard material pipes (such as stainless steel pipes). Therefore, according to experience, it is recommended to retain a certain amount of pipe springback compensation when bending the pipe, usually around 1°~3°, depending on the pipe material and hardness.
