317L (00Cr19Ni13Mo3, SUS317L) alloy is austenitic stainless steel based on molybdenum. Compared with conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304 alloy, it has stronger resistance to chemical corrosion. In addition, compared with conventional stainless steel, 317L alloy has higher ductility, stress corrosion resistance, compressive strength and high temperature resistance. It is low carbon grade or L grade, this grade has anti-sensitization performance during welding and heat treatment.
Application areas are:
Oil and natural gas industry equipment; offshore platforms, heat exchangers, underwater equipment, firefighting equipment; chemical processing industry, utensils and pipeline industry; desalination, high-pressure RO equipment and subsea pipelines; energy industry such as power plant desulfurization and denitrification FGD systems, industrial scrubbing systems , Absorption tower; mechanical parts (high-strength, anti-corrosion, wear-resistant parts).

| Types 317 (S31700), 317L (S31703) are molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steels which are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as Type 304. These alloys also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperature. In addition to excellent corrosion resistance and strength properties, the Types 316, 316L, 317, and 317L Cr-Ni-Mo alloys also provide the excellent fabricability and formability which are typical of the austenitic stainless steels. | |||||||||||||||
