Overview of Duplex S31803 / S32205 Stainless Steel
Duplex stainless steel S31803 / S32205 is a ferritic-austenite stainless steel. S31803 has good resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. It has better resistance to chloride ion pitting and crevice corrosion than ferritic stainless steel. Ordinary corrosion ability, good resistance to sulfide stress corrosion.
S31803 is developed on the basis of Swedish SAF2205. It is currently the most widely used steel grade in two-way steel in the world. It is resistant to curing hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and chloride environments. It can be formed by hot and cold processing and has good welding performance. Suitable for use as structural material, instead of 304 and 316.
Due to its excellent performance, duplex stainless steel S31803 can be used in: food industry equipment, paper industry equipment, thermal power plant flue gas desulfurization equipment, offshore oil platforms, desalination equipment and other special chemical environmental equipment: oilfield pipelines and equipment, and other chemical equipment. Used in heat exchangers and cold showers and devices for oil refining, fertilizers, papermaking, petroleum, chemical industries, etc., resistant to seawater, high temperature and concentrated nitric acid.
